Officially Joining Liverpool, Dominik Szoboszlai Wears Number 8

JAKARTA - Liverpool FC has officially received Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig with a transfer value of 70 million euros or around Rp. 1.14 trillion. The Hungarian midfielder made Liverpool's second signing this summer after Alexis Mac Allister who was brought in from Brighton & Hove Albion. Szoboszlai arrived at Anfield after two and a half years playing in the Bundesliga with Leipzig, where he made 91 games in all competitions. Szoboszlai said he was happy to be joining this historic club and could not wait to play for Liverpool soon. He will certainly wear the number eight jersey at his new club. "I've enjoyed the last few days and I can't wait to get to know everyone (at the club) better." Szoboszlai is a graduate of the Austrian club's academy, Reb Bull Salzburg. He made his professional debut for FC club Liefering in July 2017 and made 33 appearances and scored 10 goals that season. He then returned to RB Salzburg in 2018 and made his first appearance for the club against Vienna in May that year. Szoboszlai defended Salzburg until 2021, scoring 56 and scoring 16 goals in all competitions. Together with RB Salzburg, he won four Austrian Bundesliga titles (2018) to 2021 and three Austrian Cups (2019 to 2021). RB Leipzig then recruited him on December 17, 2020, but was only able to play in January 2021. Since then he has appeared 91 times, recorded 22 goals and 22 assists in all competitions and brought the German club to win two DFB Pokal trophies in 2022 and 2023. At the international level, Szoboszlai has played 32 for the Hungarian national team and scored seven goals since making his 2019 debut against Slovakia.
