Xavi Complains About Stadium Grass When Barcelona Was Held To A Draw With Getafe

JAKARTA - Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez, blamed the grass quality of the Coliseum Alfonso Perez Stadium for his team's failure to get three points from Getafe in the 2022/2023 La Liga continued, Monday, April 17, early morning WIB.

Xavi complained that the condition of the Getafe headquarters field was too dry. That's what makes it difficult for Barcelona players to develop the game.

"The field conditions really made it difficult for us. Yesterday, we practiced with such dry field conditions. This is bad for a football match. The ball often stops. This condition seems to be felt by the home team," said Xavi Hernandez as quoted by Marca on Monday, April 17.

This result made Barcelona feel for the first time lost two points in a row in La Liga so far this season. Previously, the Blaugrana were also forced to close the match with a goalless draw against Girona at the Camp Nou Stadium, last weekend.

However, Xavi emphasized that complaints about field conditions were not a strong reason for the failure of his foster children. Xavi is actually grateful to be able to get a point in the midst of this bad condition.

"This is not an excuse. We have to be able to get back up again. We can pick up a point. This achievement doesn't seem too bad given the conditions we faced on the pitch," said the former Barcelona captain and midfielder.

Barcelona have so far continued to lead the standings board with 73 points from 29 matches. Xavi's team has won 11 points from the defending champion of the competition as well as their eternal rival, Real Madrid who sits in second place.

With the remaining nine parties on the La Liga stage, the Blaugrana are predicted to be able to win the La Liga title from Los Blancos' hands this season. Even so, Xavi still asked his foster children to keep their focus on the rest of the season.

"Until so far, I think, we have played this season quite well. However, we still must not be careless and fall asleep. The next match will remain a match that is no less important," said Xavi.
