JAKARTA Colombian musician Shakira officially decided to leave her life in Barcelona, Spain, and move to Miami. He flew to the United States with his two sons the fruit of his relationship with footballer Gerard Pique.

The 46-year-old Hips Don't Lie singer left Barcelona on Tuesday, April 4 local time. Her departure was released by her family and friends in a emotional farewell.

Spanish media described the farewell scene with last goodbye speech. Despite deep tears, Shakira looked stylish in denim clothes as she and her two sons, Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8, walking to the plane.

"I settled in Barcelona to give my children stability, the same thing we are now looking for in other corners of the world, alongside family, friends, and the sea. Today we are starting a new chapter to find our happiness," Shakira wrote on Twitter before going to Miami.

The pop star was supposed to move on January 3, but his trip was postponed after his elderly father's health deteriorated.

The news of Shakira flying to Miami comes after her ex-husband Pique was reportedly very upset because she was told just days by his ex-wife before flying to America.

Shakira's lawyer, Pilar Mane, told Pique's lawyer, Ramon Tamborero, in an official announcement that the star would leave definitively, according to reporters Lorena Vasquez and Laura Fa.

The Colombian singer, according to them, then called the former Barcelona player to confirm the news. Pique was also said to be very angry because he was not told the exact date of the departure.

Spanish journalists also claim that Shakira's two sons will start schooling in Florida on April 11. That is a schedule for school children in the United States to return to class after the spring holidays.

Pique and Shakira have lived together for 11 years. However, they have been involved in a fierce dispute since their separation was announced last summer.

The separation was caused by Pique's confession regarding his new relationship with Clara Chia Marti. Since then, the love story has gradually been extinguished.

The former couple later confirmed in November that they had reached an agreement regarding child custody after protracted negotiations. The effort reached its peak in a 12-hour meeting with their lawyers.

They signed the agreement in a court in Barcelona the following month. In the agreement, Pique was allowed to spend time on vacation with his children.

Spanish media also claim that Shakira has been in a relationship with a mysterious man based in Miami.
