Juventus 1-1 Inter Milan: Romelu Lukaku Celebration Makes Noise

JAKARTA - Juventus drew against Inter Milan in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal, Wednesday, April 5, early morning WIB. The match which took place at the Allianz Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw.

Juventus opened the scoring in the 83rd minute through Juan Cuadrado's goal. However, disaster for the hosts occurred in the 90+5 minute.

Inter get a penalty. Romelu Lukaku who became the executioner carried out his duties well.

It was at this moment that there was controversy. Lukaku's celebration is unusual.

He put his finger in front of his nose, silenced Curva Sud Juventus. This action caused a commotion between Inter players and Juventus.

As a result, the referee issued three red cards. One for Juventus players, namely Cuadrado.

Then two for Inter players given to Lukaku and Samir Handanovic.

Lukaku's controversial celebration was allegedly a form of reply to the insult he received from the home fans.

The 29-year-old was sent off the bench in the second half. He looked aggressive as usual and may want to make up for his disappointment after poor form against Fiorentina on Saturday.

However, he immediately collected a yellow card for making a rough tackle on Federico Gatti. That's where the problem begins.

Lukaku was the target of an insulting chant from Juventus fans at Curva Sud as soon as he received his first yellow card and some made a monkey voice.

"Obviously, we felt that (racist insult), but I went beyond that and saw a player who scored, celebrated and it all happened from there," Inter Inzaghi coach told Mediaset after the final whistle.

"Now I have to think clearly and think that Lukaku's celebration, which he always does like that, robs our important players. The match is very calm and fair until the 95th minute," he continued.
