AFC's Strong Reaction To Responsive To Israel's Tear Gas Attack In The Palestinian League Cup Final

JAKARTA - The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) reacted strongly to the attack by Israel in the final match of the Palestinian Cup. The AFC strongly condemns the shooting of tear gas inside the stadium.

"We condemn and strongly condemn the horrific attacks carried out by Israeli forces against Palestinian Cup final players and spectators," the AFC's official statement was quoted as saying Sunday, April 2.

Previously, it was known that on Thursday, March 30, a final match of the Palestinian League Cup was presented which brought together the FC and Jabal Al Mukaber Balata. But in the middle of the match, the Israeli army disrupted the match through tear gas shots.

The duel between the two teams that took place at Faisal Al-Hussein Stadium then turned tense. Because the audience panicked because of tear gas shots rushed to the field to save themselves.

In fact, former Persib player, Mohammed Rashid, who is now appearing in the Palestinian League, was also affected by this tear gas.

The AFC immediately highlighted the brutal action carried out by the Israeli army that made the match stop. Moreover, there were children and women who were also victims of the tear gas.

"Some players and fans, including children and women, are suffering from shortness of breath from inhaling tear gas and having to be treated. This tear gas also makes the match stop," wrote an official AFC statement.

Not to remain silent, the AFC then called on Israel to immediately stop the attack on this Palestinian. They also expressed their support for Palestine.

"The AFC calls for all acts of violence by Israeli forces against the Palestinian people to end soon, and we support the Palestinian Football Association and the Palestinian football community," the AFC said.

As a result of this action, the Palestinian Football Federation will take firm steps by filing a complaint with FIFA about the shooting of tear gas by Israel in the middle of a football match.
