Cristiano Ronaldo's Experience Has Made A Positive Impact In The Portugal National Team Change Room

JAKARTA - The coach of the Portugal national team, Roberto Martinez, praised his team's senior player, Cristiano Ronaldo. He said Ronaldo's experience really helped A Selecao win in two qualifying matches for Euro 2024.

Most recently, Portugal won 6-0 Portugal over Luxembourg at Luxembourg Stadium on Monday, March 27 in the morning WIB. Ronaldo scored two goals in that match, namely in the 9th minute and doubled in the 31st minute.

Apart from scoring goals, Ronaldo also made his 198th appearance with the Portugal national team in the official international match. According to Martinez, Ronaldo's experience has had a positive impact in the dressing room.

"Cristiano (Ronaldo) has an extraordinary international experience, perhaps unique because he is the only player (in the world) with 198 caps," he said at a post-match press conference quoted from Livescore.com on Monday, March 27.

"His experience is also very important in the dressing room," continued the coach.

The former Belgian coach also gave praise to young defender Antonio Silva and Goncalo Inacio. The two players helped Portugal win a cleansheet in two Euro 2024 qualifying matches.

"It's important to see Goncalo Inacio play well in the first game (vs Liechtenstein), but for young players three days after the game, it's also important for him to rest," Martinez said.

"It is also important to see Antonio Silva enter a very important position, master the ball and withstand the Luxembourg attack. It's nice to see Antonio Silva along with experienced players like Ruben Dias and Danilo Pereira," he said.
