JAKARTA - President of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) Ednaldo Rodrigues confirmed that Carlo Ancelotti's name is currently in their main target as the next coach of the Brazil national team (timnas).
Brazil has yet to appoint a replacement for Tite who left after failing in Qatar's 2022 World Cup quarter-finals. Tite's position is expected to be filled at the end of the season.
"I really admire him (Carlo Ancelotti) because of his honesty in the way he works and how he works constantly," Rodrigues said.
"He doesn't need to be introduced. He's really a top coach who has some achievements and we hope he can get more," added the 69-year-old.
Ancelotti is still under contract with Spanish giant Real Madrid until the end of the 2023/2024 season. However, the Italian coach is said to open up opportunities to be ready to coach the national team.
