Regarding BMW M Electric Cars, Wait Until 2027

JAKARTA - An automotive manufacturer from Germany, BMW, is likely to sell all electric cars with a high-performance emblem, M, in 2027.

This is not surprising given that BMW will introduce the latest platform for its electric car lineup, the Neue Classe, which will be used for the first time in 2025.

BMW M's Head of Development, Dirk Hacker, gave a slight signal about a car powered by electricity. However, the release date is still very far away.

The new car which will later carry the Neue Classe platform is expected to launch as early as 2026, with sales likely to begin in 2027.

"When we think about high-performance electric cars M, you want to see the characteristics of M. We know the sensations of M2 and M3 CS, but also pure electric," said Hacker quoted from Auto Express, Jum'at, June 9.

It is estimated that the BMW M will use BMW's four-wheel drive system, xDrive, which is also powered by electric motors. Previously, the propulsion system was in the latest electric sedan, namely BMW i4 M50.

However, work on building a BMW M car will take time. However, the components needed are available. BMW is also testing so that the BMW M model will not only be powered by electricity, but will have the same performance as the internal combustion version.

"We are working on electric motors, high-voltage batteries and it is also very important how we can make such cars emotional," said Hacker.

Although other standard BMW electric cars perform with impressive acceleration, Hackers want to build M-submitted cars offering attractive attributes that don't exist in regular BMW.
