After GM And Ford Establish Power Charging Cooperation With Tesla, Then Stellantis?

JAKARTA - Tesla's charging device, namely the North American Charging Standard (NACS), is currently being targeted by several manufacturers.

Some time ago, companies like Ford and General Motors (GM) confirmed that they would use the device for their latest models in the future by replacing CCS charging.

Other major manufacturers who are reportedly interested in the charging system are Stellantis, a holding company that houses Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler brands. Stellantis admits that it is evaluating all possibilities to use this device on its vehicle model.

"Currently, we are continuing to evaluate NACS standards and hope to have further discussions in the future," said representative Stellantis as quoted by Reuters, Wednesday, June 14.

By switching to the NACS port, it allows Stellantis electric vehicle users to gain access to Tesla's Supercharger network. What's more, the Supercharger service has become available as many as 17,000 charging stations.

In addition to its availability, reliability and ease of use of Superchargers are often referred to as a big advantage over other charge providers.

Apart from GM and Ford, other companies such as charging operators such as EVgo have also informed that they will support further the NACS connector on their network.

Tesla's superchargers have been widely praised as the best EV infrastructure element and have more access points in the US than charging station services outside other Tesla brands.
