Indonesia Continues To Support The Use Of Electric Vehicles, Campaigns At International Events

JAKARTA - The 42nd ASEAN Summit (KTT) in Labuan Bajo will take place from 9-11 May 2023.

This event is also proof that Indonesia has consistently encouraged the use of green and blue energy in every series of international activities, where Indonesia utilizes electric vehicles during the Summit.

Setya Utama, as Secretary of the Ministry of State Secretariat, said that with this movement, it is hoped that delegates who use electric vehicles will be satisfied with Indonesia's services by consistently mobilizing the use of electric vehicles.

"We are indeed asked to always be green and blue energy by utilizing electric cars for the entire series of Summit activities. The hope is that the delegates who use this are satisfied with Indonesia's services and of course we can campaign for consistency in the use of electric vehicles," said Setya Utama, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, April 13.

This is not the first time a green and blue energy campaign has been held at an international event. Previously, this campaign was held at the G20 Summit which took place last year.

Setya added that this movement will also be continued by other events, namely the ASEAN Plus which will take place in September in Jakarta, as well as the Archipelagic and Island States.

"After the ASEAN Summit in May, later we will use electric cars for the ASEAN Plus event in Jakarta in September. Then there is also the Archipelagic and Island States event at the level of the Summit," added Setya.

For his own car, the Ministry of State Secretariat has received a loan of 13 white BMW iX units from PT BMW Indonesia which will be boarded by heads of state during the ASEAN Summit which took place in Labuan Bajo.

Furthermore, Setya said that at the event a number of other electric vehicles would be present to support this ASEAN Summit.

"We are in charge of infrastructure and logistics, have received this loan and we plan to immediately ship it to Labuan Bajo. These units will be included in the training of the Presidential Security Forces and will be under their handling," said Setya.
