JAKARTA - A series of attacks aimed at senior KPK investigators, Novel Baswedan, continues to be carried out. Even though it has not been completed, the case of pouring hard water has injured his left eye since two years ago. Now there are several new cases that want to drop his name.

The technical team formed by the National Police Chief General (ret) Tito Karnavian to resolve this case did not produce maximum results. The perpetrator of Novel's attack is still gray, because he concludes this case is a form of risk in his job as an investigator of corruption cases at the KPK.

This case, which settled for a long time, also raises new problems. The accusation that Novel Baswedan has experienced the hard water attack as a form of engineering has appeared in the mass media.

PDIP politician, Dewi Tanjung, said that Novel had deliberately fabricated the assault case. This is based on his suspicion that he saw the treatment process and the scars that Novel suffered. Feeling odd, Dewi made a report to Polda Metro Jaya to uncover the alleged fabrication behind Novel Baswedan's attack.

In addition, there was also an attack in the form of a lawsuit against the Attorney General's Office and the Bengkulu District Attorney that was brought up by a senior lawyer and convict of corruption, Otto Cornelis Kaligis or better known as OC Kaligis.

He wants to reopen the case of the persecution of the swallow's nest thief, which happened 15 years ago. At that time, Novel was still the Head of the Bengkulu Police Reskrim.

The lawsuit has been registered at the South Jakarta District Court, with the lawsuit registration number, namely 958 / Pdt.G / 2019 / PN JKT.SEL regarding the classification of default cases. The first trial of the case will be held on Wednesday 4 December.

When met at an event from the DKI Jakarta Education Agency, Novel was reluctant to comment on the many attacks aimed at him. Either the report filed by Dewi Tanjung or the lawsuit from OC Kaligis.

This senior KPK investigator considers Dewi Tanjung's accusations to be baseless. Moreover, there were no parties being sued by him in the reporting.

"I am worried that he may not actually know that what he is talking about is not true. And I am afraid that he is a report to the police in order to work on the police. If that is what he is doing, the police know that there is an offense that could ensnare people doing that," Novel said when he was met VOI, Saturday 9 November.

According to Novel, there is another motive behind Dewi Tanjung's reporting to the police. This is because the context of the fabrication uttered by Dewi Tanjung has been clarified by several parties who handled the case.

"I do not understand who he wants to insult him. Does he want to insult the big hospital that treated me, or the police investigating this case. Because Komnas HAM is also conducting the investigation. Does he want to insult the figures who met me and saw the situation. me, "explained Novel.

Novel became economical again when he responded to questions from media crews who asked President Joko Widodo's attitude towards his case. "Pak Jokowi has already given deadlines three times. We'll just wait and see," he said.

The same thing happened when he touched on OC Kaligis' lawsuit. According to him, there is no need for a response because it has been handed over to the coalition. "Later comrades from the civilian coalition will respond to that," he concluded.
