Anies Threat For Companies Violating PSBB Jakarta

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan emphasized that he is ready to revoke business permits from companies or corporations if they still require employees to enter the office, as long as the large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) are enforced. This threat applies to companies outside the exception to the business sector in Jakarta.

Anies emphasized that the PSBB was carried out to reduce the number of spread of COVID-19 in Jakarta. However, the enforcement of this rule was not necessarily accompanied by a reduction in activity in the business world.

"We hope that (PSBB rules) will be obeyed soon, because the review will be carried out and we will take firm action. This can take the form of an evaluation of permits," said Anies at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 13.

Based on the results of the provisional evaluation of the PSBB since last April 10. There are still a lot of community movements from the buffer area to Jakarta, because not many companies have instructed their employees to work at home to prevent transmission of COVID-19.

It is important for Anies to ask for the awareness of company managers or management to change work patterns during the PSBB. However, if in the future there are still many companies that violate them, the DKI Provincial Government will not hesitate to revoke their business permits.

"If the violation is repeated and it continues, then we can revoke the business license. We do not expect that to happen. Therefore, we ask everyone to obey," said Anies.

Anies conveyed that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will conduct an evaluation of companies outside the sector that are exempt from implementing the PSBB. The 10 sectors that are excluded are health, food, energy, communications and media, finance, logistics, construction, strategic industries, business sectors that serve daily needs, as well as basic services and public utilities or certain national / vital objects.

In implementing the PSBB, Anies prohibits people from gathering more than five people in public places, with the aim of reducing the potential for interactions from COVID-19. Anies also extended the policy period for implementing work and studying at home, halting religious activities, closing tourist attractions, and limiting the intensity of transportation.

Until now, positive cases of COVID-19 in Jakarta are still increasing. Data Monday, April 13, the number of confirmed patients reached 2,186. Meanwhile, the number of patients who were declared cured was 142, 204 of whom died.
