Vice President Gibran: Immediately Report If Christmas Celebrations Are Difficult

JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka in front of the new management of the Catholic Youth and top officials of the Church Guardian Conference (KWI) advised them to immediately report when Christmas worship activities and celebrations were made difficult.

During the inauguration of the 2024'2027 Catholic Youth Center Management, the Vice President also invited the General Chairperson of the PP Pemuda Catholic Stefanus Asat Gusma to immediately report to him via WhatsApp message or telephone.

"I also ordered this message to Mas Gusma, if something is complicated during Christmas Mass and Christmas celebrations, immediately report it to the police, TNI, local government, or it can be directly to me, there is a cellphone number, you can immediately be WA (WhatsApp) or called," said Vice President Gibran as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 17.

The vice president said President Prabowo Subianto while chairing a limited meeting to prepare for Christmas and New Year had emphasized to his staff and the President wanted the public to be able to carry out Christmas services and celebrate the New Year 2025 safely, comfortably, and with joy.

The Vice President also emphasized his commitment to create a safe and comfortable Christmas and New Year.

Gibran emphasized that his commitment had not changed since he served as Mayor of Surakarta for more than three years.

"My commitment has not changed, just like when I was still mayor. More than three years in Solo the challenges are also extraordinary. We made Christmas celebrations, put up Christmas ornaments, Christmas trees," said the Vice President.

Gibran also emphasized that Indonesia is a country that is awarded diversity.

"The difference is our strength. The differences are our beautiful colors. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika is the noble legacy of the nation's founders that we must care for and protect, and strengthen together," he said.

The vice president also conveyed Pope Francis' message during a visit to Indonesia.
