JAKARTA - The chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP for the Winning of the Executive Election, Deddy Sitorus, admitted that he understands that many people are questioning why his party has just fired Joko Widodo and his current family.

In fact, the conflict between PDIP and Jokowi, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and Bobby Nasution has been going on since the 2024 presidential election.

Deddy replied, PDIP has the ethical value and political morality to maintain Jokowi's dignity as the 7th President who deserves respect during his tenure until October 20, 2024.

"After the presidential and legislative elections, we want to focus and concentrate on facing the regional elections as a national political agenda," Deddy told reporters, Monday, November 16.

Then, since the 2024 Pilkada was completed, PDIP only had time to gather party leaders from all provinces to evaluate cadres who violated party rules.

"So, this process is not only about Jokowi and his family but cadres throughout Indonesia," said Deddy.

PDIP, continued Deddy, does not want an evil narrative to develop regarding the dismissal just because it is not ready to concentrate. Remember, Gibran and Bobby as Jokowi's children and son-in-law participated in the 2024 presidential election and 2024 regional elections.

"So, of course, the best thing is to do the dismissal after all political contestations are completed. So, it is clear and clear that this process is solely to enforce the rules and discipline of the party," he explained.

For information, PDIP officially fired the 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his son Gibran Rakabuming Raka and his son-in-law Bobby Nasution. The reason PDIP fired Jokowi was because he did not follow the party's orders to support Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election and was considered to have intervened with the Constitutional Court (MK).

Jokowi's dismissal letter from PDIP is written in decree number 1649/KPTS/DPP/XII/2024 issued on December 4, 2024.

In the letter, it was stated that Jokowi had violated the party's articles of association / household budget (AD / ART) and violated the party's code of ethics and discipline.

Among them are by openly fighting PDIP's decision to support the presidential and vice presidential candidates pair Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD who were promoted by PDIP in the 2024 General Election.

"Brother Joko Widodo's actions and actions, as a PDIP cadre assigned by the party as President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2014-2019 and 2019-2024 service, have violated the party's AD/ART in 2019 as well as the party's code of ethics and discipline. By openly fighting against the Party's DPP decision regarding the support of presidential and vice presidential candidates Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD pairs promoted by PDIP in the 2024 election," the decree reads.

In the decree on the dismissal, PDIP's consideration of dismissing Gibran was because the eldest son of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo had served as a national campaign interpreter and spokesman for the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md pair in 2023 based on Instruction Letter Number 5640/IN/DPP/X/2023.

However, on October 21, 2023, Gibran was suddenly promoted by the Golkar Party as a vice presidential candidate to accompany Prabowo Subianto. Gibran was present at the inauguration event and was declared a vice presidential candidate.

"Considering that the defendant has been officially declared a vice presidential candidate to accompany Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate promoted by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition," reads one of the consideration points listed in Gibran's dismissal decree.
