"The process of transferring inmate Mary Jane from the Yogyakarta Class IIB Women's Prison to the Class IIA Jakarta Women's Prison has been successful," said Deputy Coordinator for Immigration and Corrections at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Rights, Kumham Imipas, I Nyoman Gede Surya Mataram in a statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Monday, December 16.
Surya explained that the transfer of Mary Jane from Yogyakarta to Jakarta was a follow-up to the Acting Director General of Corrections Number PAS-PK.05.05-2540 dated December 13, 2024.

The arrival of Mary Jane and her entourage was received directly by the Head of the Class IIA Jakarta Women's Prison accompanied by representatives from the Correctional Division of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights DKI Jakarta and the East Jakarta District Attorney.
"The acceptance process begins with health checks, administrative verification, and the signing of the handover report. After undergoing medical and administrative examinations, Mary Jane has now been placed in the residential room that has been prepared," said Surya.
Furthermore, Mary Jane was required to take part in the environmental recognition program (mapenaling) as part of an initial orientation procedure in prisons, before she was transferred to her home country, Philippines.

The Philippine government has agreed on all conditions put forward by Indonesia for the transfer of Mary Jane. Meanwhile, Mary Jane will be sent home as a permanent inmate before Christmas 2024.
