After The Voice Recap And Results Determination, The North Sulawesi KPU Is Ready To Face The Lawsuit At The Constitutional Court

The General Election Commission (KPU) of North Sulawesi is ready to face a dispute over the election results (PHP) at the Constitutional Court (MK).

"The North Sulawesi KPU has held a coordination meeting to prepare for PHP in the Constitutional Court," said North Sulawesi KPU member Meidy Tinangon, quoting ANTARA, Sunday, December 15.

He said the KPU had calculated and determined the results of the election for regents and deputy regents, mayors and deputy mayors as well as governors and deputy governors.

"Learning from past experience in the 2024 General Election, there were approximately eight cases reported to the Constitutional Court," he said.

Therefore, according to Tinangon, it is necessary to prepare for PHP in the Constitutional Court after determining the election results some time ago.

He said that so far there have been 10 PHPs that have entered the Constitutional Court, namely Manado City, Tomohon City, Talaud Islands Regency, and Bolaang Mongondow.

Furthermore, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency, Southeast Minahasa Regency, Minahasa Regency, East Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Minahasa Regency and South Minahasa Regency.

The election for governor and deputy governor of North Sulawesi was followed by three pairs of candidates, Yulius Selvanus Komaling-Vicor Mailangkay, Elly Engelbert Lasut-Hanny Joost Pajouw and Steven OE Kandouw- Denny Tuejeh.

After the determination of the results, the pair Steven OE Kandouw- Denny Tuejeh congratulated Yulius Selvanus Komaling-Vicor Mailangkay, while the pair EllyGGelbert Lasut-Hanny Joost Pajouw has yet to determine his political steps.
