Christmas 2024, 172 WBP Ambon Proposed To Receive Remission For Good Behavior

JAKARTA - A total of 172 Correctional Inmates (WBP) Class II A Ambon Penitentiarys, Maluku are proposed to get remission or reduce the special sentence for Christmas 2024 to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

A total of 15 people are proposed to get 15 days remission, 127 people get one month remission, 23 people get one month 15 days remission, and nine people get two months remission.

"Of the total 407 inmates, we propose 172 people to get Christmas 2024 remission," said Head of Ambon Mukhtar Class II A Prison in Ambon, Saturday, December 14, quoted from ANTARA.

He said that currently his party was trying to propose remission for the 172 inmates.

"We are temporarily waiting for a special Christmas remission decision letter from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and when everything has been completed, later on December 25, 2024, when the Christmas celebration will be handed over directly by the Head of the Maluku Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office," he said.

Regarding the requirements for inmates to get special remission for Christmas, Mukhtar said there are several requirements that must be met by the inmates.

"One of them has served a minimum of six months in prison. In addition, he must behave well while serving a prison term and several other requirements," he said.

Mukhtar said the remission should be a motivation for the inmates to improve themselves to be even better.

"My hope is for the inmates who will get remission, hopefully it can be even better and do not commit violations that can be sanctioned for revocation of remission," he said.

As for the inmates who have not been proposed to get remission, Mukhtar hopes to be patient and remain well behaved so that next year it can be proposed.

"Avoid the slightest violation in order to receive remission next year," he said.
