Bawaslu Asked To Order PPP Billboards To Support AMIN Couples In Yogyakarta

JAKARTA The Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) was asked to bring order to the billboards for support from PPP to the Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) pairs that appeared in the Sleman area, Yogyakarta.

According to the Chairman of the PPP DPP Achmad Baidowi, his party has officially brought the pair Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD. Therefore, the emergence of billboards for PPP support for the AMIN pair is considered to be able to tarnish the image of the party ahead of the 2024 General Election.

"It's not a legitimate PPP, and we don't know about the installation of support billboards for AMIN. Of course we ask Bawaslu to discipline it because it is not PPP's authority to control it," he said, Sunday, November 12.

Baidowi revealed that the installation of PPP support billboards in AMIN included the category of abuse of party attributes officially owned by election participants. These violations can certainly be subject to election crimes.

Despite the billboard case, he emphasized that PPP is ready to fight to win the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD pair. Because, PPP cadres solidly support the Ganjar-Mahfud pair.

"We are sure that PPP will be when there are more elections choosing Pak Ganjar and it is proven when we go down and especially if the vice president is Pak Mahfud MD," concluded Baidowi.
