Muhadjir In The Palestinian Defense Action: Don't Hesitate With The Government's Attitude, We Support Until Independence

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy emphasized that the government firmly supports Palestine by mobilizing all assistance that can be handed over.

This was revealed by Muhadjir in an oration from the stage in front of the mass of the Palestinian defense action that adequate the National Monument area.

"I was present representing the government of the Republic of Indonesia, assigned by the President, the three of them, not playing games. Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Religion. What does that mean? This means that we all should not hesitate the attitude of the Indonesian government, we will support Palestine with all our strengths until Palestine is independent. Allahu Akbar!" Muhadjir exclaimed, Sunday, November 5.

Muhadjir then invited all those present in the Palestinian defense action to sing Salawat to pray for Palestine to be independent.

"I invite everyone to pray so that the benefits of salawat can strengthen our prayers so that our prayers for all Indonesian people, especially those 2 million who are present at this Monas, are granted by Allah immediately, so that the Palestinian people can escape prolonged suffering," explained Muhadjir.

There was a sound of accompanying songs and Muhadjir began to guide the salawat. The crowd joined in singing salawat chanting while flying the Palestinian flag.

In addition, in his oration, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said that the government had sent humanitarian aid to Palestine. The release of the delivery of 51.5 tons of aid in the form of food, medical equipment, and logistics was directly led by President Joko Widodo on Saturday, November 4.

"Yesterday the first aid was dispatched directly by President Jokowi and this is not only government assistance but all Indonesian people who are channeled through humanitarian institutions," said Retno.

A number of figures attended this activity. Among them are Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Indonesian Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, 10th and 12th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla.

Also present were MUI Deputy Chairperson Anwar Abbas, Imam Besar Istiqlal Mosque Nasaruddin Umar, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Jazilul Fawaid, to former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.

Interfaith leaders were also present in the Palestinian defense action. This action was coordinated by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).
