Aceh Provincial Government Revokes 3 Company Mining Business Permits Not Complying With Rules

ACEH - The Aceh government revoked three mineral and coal mining business permits (IUP) for not carrying out obligations in accordance with applicable regulations and regulations. "The revocation of the Minerba IUP for the three companies is carried out very carefully so that Aceh's investment image is maintained," said Head of the Aceh Investment and One Stop Integrated Service (DPMPTSP) Marthunis in Banda Aceh, Antara, Wednesday, November 1. The three IUPs that were revoked belonged to PT OSS in Subulussalam, PT MMU in South Aceh, and PT TIJ IUP in Aceh Besar. Previously, the Aceh Government had also revoked the IUP of PT BMU in South Aceh on September 12, 2023, the company was deemed to have violated the business license granted. Marthunis conveyed that the Aceh Government appreciates permit holders who follow good mining procedures, but will be firm against companies that ignore statutory regulations. "We want investors to apply good mining rules or 'good mining practices'," he said. He said the revocation of the three IUPs was not arbitrary, but had gone through observations, guidance and assessment by the mining business evaluation team for mineral and coal formed by the Aceh Government. Where, the evaluation team conducted an assessment of the company's fulfillment of its obligations on all good mining aspects in terms of administration, technical, environmental and financial. Marthunis explained that the evaluation results showed that PT OSS had not fulfilled its obligations as the holder of the Production Operation IUP since 2018. "The Evaluation Team also did not see any signs of iron ore mining activities according to the permit given. Some of the warning letters that had been given to the company were also ignored," he said. Then, said Marthunis, his party also recommended the revocation of the IUP for the production operation of PT MMU which was determined by the Decree of the South Aceh Regent Number 03 of 2010 concerning the Adjustment of Exploitation Mining Power to Become a Business Permit for the IUP for the Production Operation of Gold Commodities and its Followers Minerals. Here, PT MMU does not fulfill its obligation as a holder of IUP production operations, does not carry out obligations in accordance with Article 27 of the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 10 of 2023 concerning Procedures for the Preparation, Submission and Approval of Work Plans and Budgets, as well as Procedures for Reporting on the Implementation of Minerba Minerba Mining Business Activities. Similar conditions also occurred to PT TIJ in Aceh Besar, continued Marthunis, even though the iron ore mining company had been actively working according to the permit given, they had stopped activities since the last few years.
