MALUKU - The Special Criminal Investigation Prosecutor of the Maluku High Prosecutor's Office has named one suspect in the alleged corruption case of irregularities in the procurement project for the Village Information System (Simdes) application in South Buru Regency in 2019.
"The one who was named a suspect today is CEM as Deputy Director of CV Ziva Pazia who handled the Simdes application procurement project," said Head of Legal Information and Public Relations of the Maluku Attorney General's Office Wahyudi Kareba in Ambon, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, November 1.
After being named a suspect, the prosecutor immediately detained CEM for the next 20 days and entrusted him to the Class II A State Detention Center in Ambon.
According to Wahyudi, the investigation team led by the Head of Investigation at the Maluku Prosecutor's Office, Ye Oceng Almahdaly, previously sent a call to CEM to be examined as a witness.
However, based on the considerations of two sufficient pieces of evidence, CEM was immediately named a suspect on suspicion of corruption in the case of irregularities in the Simdes application procurement project which resulted in state financial losses of Rp421,113,636.
