Not A Truf Card, Golkar Calls The Reason For Gibran's Candidacy To Guarantee Jokowi's 'Sakti Cards'

JAKARTA - Golkar Party politician Nusron Wahid denied the statement by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto regarding Gibran Rakabuming's candidacy as vice presidential candidate because there was a political party chairman in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) who was held hostage by the authorities' 'truf card'.

Nusron emphasized that the main reason his party agreed to support Gibran as the vice presidential candidate accompanying Prabowo Subianto was because it was to provide opportunities for the younger generation to take part in the national leadership.

This support is also to ensure the sustainability of magic cards issued by the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin government.

"We chose it (Gibran), because we give trust and opportunity to young people to lead the Indonesian nation, not because of the truf card," said Nusron Wahid, Monday, October 30.

"Indeed, because Gibran guarantees the sustainability of'sakti' cards from the government of President Joko Widodo," he continued.

The former head of BNP2TKI assessed that the use of the 'Sakti Card' which includes Smart Indonesia Cards (KIP), Healthy Indonesia Cards (KIS), Pre-Employment Cards, Healthy Children Cards, and others has brought many benefits to Indonesia.

Therefore, according to Nusron, Gibran, who is Jokowi's eldest son, needs to continue the continuity of these cards.

"The push of the people's voice made us choose Gibran, not a truf card," said Nusron.

The Golkar representative in the Prabowo-Gibran national campaign team (TKN) denied Hasto's accusations of legal disobedience at the Constitutional Court regarding the lawsuit for the age limit of the vice presidential candidate. In fact, said Nusron, Gibran's advancement in the national contestation was to fulfill the call from the people, not the party assignment.

"Since the beginning, Pak Jokowi became President and Mas Gibran became Mayor of Solo was to serve and serve the people, not to serve and serve the party. Because the essence of a leader is a member of the people, not a party official," he said.

The head of the Election Winning Body (Bappilu) of the Golkar Party also explained about Gibran's status proposed by his party as a vice presidential candidate. Nusron ensured that Golkar did not force Gibran to join.

"Let everything flow and we leave it entirely to Mas Gibran. Currently our focus is on how the Prabowo-Gibran pair can win, not pursuing Mas Gibran's status and membership in the Golkar party," said Nusron.
