Fire At Bantargebang TPST Has Been Extinguished, Police Say The Cause Is Hot Temperature

JAKARTA - The fire at the Bantargebang integrated waste processing site (TPST) is gradually extinguished. The fire was extinguished by 25 fire engines. The fire, which broke out since 14.15 WIB, ended in a blackout on Sunday, October 29, afternoon.

"Alhamdulillah, the fire has been extinguished since around 15.30 WIB. Until now it is still in the cooling process," said Bantargebang Police Chief, AKP Ririn when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, October 29, evening.

Furthermore, AKP Ririn explained that there were no casualties or injuries from the fire at the Bantargebang TPST.

"There were no victims," he said.

Meanwhile, from the results of the statements of a number of witnesses who were questioned by the Bantargebang Police, the cause of the fire occurred due to natural factors.

"The results of the statements of several witnesses, the cause of the fire was the heat of the sun," he said.

Previously, as many as 12 fire engines (damkar) helped extinguish the fire at the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST) in Bekasi, West Java.

"For the time being, there are four water tankers for the Integrated Waste Management Unit (UPST), two UPST firefighters, six firefighters from DKI, and four firefighters from Bekasi City. They are doing blackouts," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency (DLH) Asep Kuswanto when confirmed in Jakarta, Sunday as quoted by Antara.

Asep said the fire incident had occurred since Sunday afternoon at 14.00 WIB in the Jambore 2 Zone, the Bantargebang TPST area. The location of the fire is right in front of the "power house" and the waste power plant (PLTSa).
