TNI-Polri Alert At 5 Bali Entrances To Anticipate Disturbances At The AIS Summit

DENPASAR - Thousands of TNI-Polri personnel were alerted at five entrances to Bali to anticipate threats to security for the implementation of the Archipelagic and Island States High Level Conference (KTT AIS) Forum 2023.

Head of the National Police's Security Maintenance Agency (Kabaharkam) Komjen Mohammad Fadil Imran said the personnel assigned would cooperate with other relevant stakeholders to tighten security to ensure that there are no threats of security and order that could interfere with the implementation of the international event which will be held in Nusa Dua, Bali 10-11 October 2023.

The five entrances are I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Gilimanuk Port, Celukan Bawang Port, Benoa Port, and Padang Bai Port.

According to him, increasing community activities, especially in the Bali area as one of the tourist destinations, certainly has the potential to cause disturbances in public security and order as well as security, safety, order, and smooth traffic.

"So that the implementation of security operations at the AIS Forum Summit requires comprehensive and integrated anticipatory and handling steps involving various elements of the agency," said Fadil after the troop deployment at Niti Mandala Field, Denpasar.

Fadil revealed that the choice of Bali as the venue for the AIS Forum Summit is a separate advantage for the tourism world in Indonesia, especially Bali, which is indeed a 90 percent income per capita supported by the tourism sector.

Therefore, it is certain that the Tribrata Agung 2023 centralized operation will not interfere with tourism activities on the Island of the Gods and bring a sense of security to the Balinese people.

The seriousness of the National Police in securing the AIS Forum 2023 Summit is proven by presenting considerable strength equipped with adequate facilities and infrastructure. The National Police itself deployed 4,286 personnel consisting of 1,995 Police Headquarters and 2,291 Bali Police.

"The strengthening that we hold will be placed to secure the accommodation of the delegates, activity venues, escorts, route security, security of parking lots and regional security," he said.

The former East Java Police Chief said that the National Police was also preparing personnel to anticipate the continuous situation, both terrorism, disasters and anarchic demonstrations, all of which are currently on standby in Bali with all their equipment.
