Ponorogo Police Arrest 6 Teenagers Of Beating Up Between Silat Groups

PONOROGO - Police officers from the Pororogo Resort Police, East Java, again arrested six teenagers suspected of being directly involved in the clashes, the police called it a beating, between groups of silat colleges that occurred on Saturday (30/9) night.

"Previously we have arrested one person who was identified based on CCTV evidence and today six (people) are being secured so that a total of seven people we have examined," said Head of the Ponorogo Police Criminal Investigation Unit Adjunct Police Commissioner Nikolas Bagas Yudhi Kurnia, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 2.

He explained that the arrest of six teenagers, the majority of whom were minors, referred to reports of victims and residents who witnessed the incident.

"(The perpetrators) are mostly minors, all of whom are residents of Ponorogo," he said without specifying the identities of the perpetrators.

According to Bagas, the perpetrators who were arrested and examined still have the potential to increase along with reports from other victims. Currently, there are four people who have reported for being victims of the clashes.

"It still has the potential to increase, but currently we are examining seven people intensively," he said

Incidents of unbalanced clashes between groups of perpetrators occurred Saturday (30/9) night at three location points in Ponorogo City, namely in the north of the ice factory intersection, the Seloaji Terminal intersection and Jalan Sukarno Hatta in front of a Ponorogo City paint shop.
