Ganjar Pranowo's Solution To Tiktok Shop And Selling Artists That Turn Off Traditional Markets

JAKARTA - Ganjar Pranowo's presidential candidate gave views regarding Tiktok Shop and selling artists that kill traditional markets.

According to him, the government needs to provide protection to traders in traditional markets who are experiencing threats due to the online trade boom. However, the right solution is not to ban the TikTok Live Shop platform or prevent artists from selling.

It is said that the state must not hinder individuals from trying as long as it does not violate the law. However, the state has an obligation to regulate these activities so as not to harm other parties.

"If an artist wants to sell groceries, why not? It is his right to trade, we shouldn't prohibit it. All we can do is regulate these activities," said Ganjar, in his statement, Sunday, September 24.

According to him, the government needs to take three important steps. First, a philosophical approach to protecting small traders. Second, a sociological approach to understanding the root of the problem and finding the right solution.

"This is a sociological problem because there is a disruption. Therefore, the government must immediately engage and have a dialogue with related parties," Ganjar continued.

The former governor of Central Java emphasized that the dialogue process must be transparent and the government must listen to the aspirations of various parties.

"We need to provide training to MSMEs (small and medium enterprises) so that they are ready to compete. Prohibiting artists from selling is unfair, because not all artists have the same wealth. We also need to protect intellectual property rights, royalties, and works of art from copyright infringement," he explained.

Furthermore, after going through a philosophical and sociological approach, the government can formulate appropriate regulations.

"The best way is to listen to all parties involved so that the resulting regulations will reflect the interests of all parties. Thus, the philosophy and sociological approach will be the basis for making regulations," he concluded.
