The Law Enforcement Task Force (Gakkum) for the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Dit Reskrimum) of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) has succeeded in uncovering a case of trafficking in people under the guise of massage or spa in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province.

Head of the Gakkum TPPO Sub-State of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police, Kompol Syahrir Hanafi, said that the TPPO under the guise of a spa was run by a woman with the initials DS (48), whose address is Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani, Mataiwoi Village, Wuawua District, Kendari City.

He conveyed that the disclosure of the person's trade began with public information to the police, which was then followed up by the TPPO Gakkum Task Force Team of the Southeast Sulawesi Police Criminal Investigation Unit, on Monday at around 15.30 WITA.

"Based on public information, after we followed up, we managed to find a woman with the initials DS who was suspected of committing a criminal act of trafficking in persons, or sexual exploitation under the guise of a spa," Syahrir said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 19.

He mentioned that in the disclosure, his party found DS trading the victim with the initials HR (28).

In carrying out the action, he continued, DS exploited his victims by offering HR to mashers through the Michat application for Rp600 thousand for one date.

"Through the Michat application at a price of Rp600 thousand," he said.

From these results, said Syahrir, the perpetrator then divided the widowers, where the victim received Rp. 300 thousand and he also received Rp. 300 thousand.

Syahrir revealed that in the disclosure, his party also secured several pieces of evidence in the form of a telephone call, a contraceptive tool that had been used and five unused pieces, one book, and six Rp100 thousand denominations.

"We have secured some evidence and the perpetrators are at the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police," he said.

He explained that to account for his actions, the perpetrators would be subject to Article 2 Paragraph (1), Paragraph (2), Article 10, Article 11, Article 12 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons.
