The Minister of Home Affairs received and ratified the dismissal of the Deputy Regent of Agam, West Sumatra, Irwan Fikri who resigned since Friday, May 12, 2023. "Currently, the election stage is still announcing the Temporary Candidate List (DCS), meaning that according to the Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs, Irwan Fikri is still serving as Deputy Regent of Agam," he said in Padang, Antara, Thursday, August 24. He said the consequences of the Minister of Home Affairs' Decree, Irwan Fikri should continue to carry out his duties and obligations and accept his rights as Deputy Regent of Agam. According to Doni, the Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) has been sent in the form of pdf to Irwan Fikri while the original decree was sent to the Agam Regency Government. "The letter has been taken by the Agam Regency Government," he said. Previously, the Deputy Regent of Agam, Irwan Fikri, submitted his resignation from his position through a letter to the local DPRD on Friday, May 12. Irwan admitted that he resigned on the grounds that he was no longer in line with the regent's performance, and had the potential to disrupt the running of the government and harm the community if it continued to be the deputy regent.
