Defendant In The Bribery Case Of The Sogok Railroad Official DJKA Sued 4.2 Years In Prison

SEMARANG - The prosecutor demanded the Director of PT Istana Putra Agung, Dion Renato Sugiarto, to be sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in prison. Dion is a defendant in the bribery case of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kamenhub).

The defendant Dion is suspected of giving bribes to obtain construction work and improve rail lines in Central Java, West Java, and South Sulawesi.

"To declare the defendant guilty of violating Article 5 Paragraph 1 letter a of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption," said Public Prosecutor (JPU) Dicky Wahyu at the Semarang Corruption Court, Thursday, August 24, confiscated by Antara.

The prosecutor also demanded that the defendant Dion pay a fine of Rp250 million which if not paid will be replaced with imprisonment for six months.

In his demands, the prosecutor detailed the amount of bribes originating from the fee of three projects at the Central Java Region Railway Engineering Center (BTP) reaching Rp28.9 billion.

The fee comes from the elevated train double line work package project between Solo Balapan-Kadipiro KM 104+900 to KM 106+900 (JGSS 4), the Solo Balapan-Kadipiro-Kalioso (JGSS 6) dual train line project, and Track Layout Tegal Station.

In the JGSS 4 project, the amount of the fee given by the defendant reached Rp9.2 billion.

That amount of money, among others, was intended by Commitment Making Officer (PPK) Bernard Hasibuan amounting to Rp1.1 billion, Head of BTP Central Java Region Putu Sumarjaya Rp50 million per month and tuition costs of Rp15 million, and Head of Pokja ULP project JGSS 4 Risna Sutriyanto Rp800 million.

In addition, the prosecutor also said that the provision of a sleep fee for entrepreneur Billy Haryanto alias Billy Rice was IDR 3.2 billion.

In the JGSS 6 project, the total fee distributed by the defendant reached Rp. 16.8 billion.

In addition to PPK Bernard Hasibuan and Head of Central Java BTP Putu Sumarjaya, the prosecutor said the fee also flowed to the ULP Priyek JGSS 6 Pokja amounting to Rp720 million, DPR Sudive members Rp720 million, and the sleep fee to entrepreneur Muhammad Suryo amounting to Rp9.5 billion.

Then in the Tegal Station track layout project, the amount of fees distributed reached Rp. 2.8 billion, with Rp. 2.5 billion of which was a sleep fee.

In his charge, the prosecutor said that the defendant's actions did not support a government that was free from corruption, collusion, and nepotism and damaged public trust in government institutions.

Upon these demands, the judge gave the defendant the opportunity to present his defense at the upcoming trial.
