PKK Terrorist Group Continues To Kidnap Children In Syria

JAKARTA - The YPG/PKK terror group continues to kidnap 13-15-year-old children in the territory they occupy in Syria, according to the Syrian Kurdish National Council (ENKS).

"Our people have left the area due to living conditions, this security situation and kidnapping and they are still doing that," ENKS representative in Erbil, Salih Jamil told Anadolu news agency, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 23.

He said terrorists carried out forced recruitment requiring thousands of residents to seek refuge in Kurdin areas north of Iraq, Turkey and Europe.

"Families cannot return to their homes for fear their children will be kidnapped. In international law this action constitutes a war crime," he said.

The PKK terrorist group also kidnapped ENKS members, he said, criticizing the international community who were silent about the action.

"They closed and blocked the place where we last held the congress. We have to do it secretly at home. Even though we are a legitimate organization, they operate outside the law and are not legal," he said.

According to Jamil, ENKS represents the Syrian Kurdish in the eyes of the international community and 144 countries recognize it.

He said the PKK terror group intercepted residents returning to their homes.

"Currently, our people are still leaving the area due to their living conditions, security concerns and ongoing kidnappings," he said.
