Police Confirm That The Deputy Regent Of Sumbawa Is Clarified About The COVID-19 Mask Report, Not Coming In Persons

Mataram City Police Chief Kombes Mustofa confirmed that his party asked for clarification from the Deputy Regent of Sumbawa Dewi Noviany regarding his position as head of the field (kabid) in one of the government agencies.

"He (the Deputy Regent of Sumbawa) we clarify that he is not a position in the position of deputy regent, but when he was still the head of the province," said Kombes Mustofa in Mataram as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 16.

The police chief explained that this request for clarification was a follow-up to public reports regarding the procurement of masks in the 2020-2021 COVID-19 era in NTB which was suspected of having committed a criminal act of corruption.

"So from anyone in the procurement of masks, we clarify everything, starting from the head of the district, head of staff, including MSME actors who are cooperated with in the procurement. Later there will also be from the banking sector. What is clear is that we continue to prioritize the principle of presumption of innocence in every handling of reports," he said.

Kombes Mustofa emphasized that the handling of this public report is still under investigation. In this process, the police have not found any indications of unlawful acts.

"The process of following up on community reports has stages, we ask for clarification first to see the alleged criminal acts. If they exist, we will increase them to investigations and we will expose them to the media," he said.

The Deputy Regent of Sumbawa gave a statement before police investigators on Monday (14/8) about 2 hours from arriving with legal assistance at 09.00 WITA.
