When Is Weather Modification In Jakarta Reddening Air Pollution?

JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) is waiting for a regional phenomenon that allows cloud formation to carry out weather engineering in the Banten and West Java regions.

Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said there was a certain time for clouds in Jakarta to be sufficient for weather modification technology (TMC).

"But indeed, we have to see and recalculate the optimization later," said Abdul as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 14.

Abdul said that on several occasions, clouds in Jakarta were influenced by the interaction of the sea-atmosphere in the Indian Ocean.

"We hope that there are regional conditions that allow clouds above Banten and Jabarfeasible (to be used, red) for TMC," said Abdul.

President Joko Widodo in a limited meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday, encouraged a hybrid work system to reduce air pollution in Greater Jakarta which is getting worse.

The President ordered intervention from ministries and non-ministerial government agencies to make air quality in Jabodetabek better, one of which is by engineering the weather to lure rain in the Jabodetabek area and implement regulations to accelerate the application of emission limits.
