The Holy Prosecutor's Office Is Still Examining Witnesses In The Case Of Misappropriation Of KONI Funds

The KUDUS - District Attorney (Kejari) of Kudus Regency, Central Java, is still examining witnesses regarding reports of alleged misuse of grant funds from the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Kudus in 2022.

"Currently, we have asked many witnesses for their statements. The number of witnesses being questioned is still possible to increase above 50 witnesses," said Head of the Intelligence Section of the Kudus District Attorney Arga Maramba as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, August 12.

The Holy Prosecutor's Office has a target that in August 2023 it can be concluded whether the case can be escalated to an investigation.

The alleged corruption case of KONI Kudus grant funds emerged after there were public reports regarding a cut in grant funds given to sports branch managers (Pengcab) in Kudus Regency.

In the 2022 fiscal year, KONI Kudus received a grant from the Kudus Youth and Sports Education Office of Rp. 10.9 billion, with details from the pure APBD of Rp. 8.4 billion and from the 2022 Revised APBD of Rp. 2.5 billion to be distributed to 53 Pengcab.

However, in the distribution of the grant budget, it is suspected that there were problems ranging from those who did not get the budget to the budget received not according to the budget plan (RAB).

The results of the examination by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) found that the use of funds that must be accounted for was IDR 295 million and IDR 322 million.

For the use of funds amounting to Rp295 million, it is suspected that its use is not in accordance with its allocation, while funds worth Rp322 million are suspected to be findings that are not supported by complete evidence, so that they are still waiting for a study by the Kudus Inspectorate, to ensure whether or not there is a state loss.

Of the dozens of witnesses who were questioned by the Kudus Prosecutor's Office, including the district head, the management of KONIKudus, athletes, officials within the Kudus Education Office, the Kudus Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency, and the Inspectorate, including from private banks and former Chairman of the Kudus KONI Imam T riyanto were also questioned.
