Praise For West Java Investment Is Considered By Observers To Be A Form Of Jokowi's Endorsement To Ridwan Kamil

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) move to appreciate West Java as the province with the best investment achievements in Indonesia highlighted by the Executive Director of the Trias of Strategic Politics Agung Baskoro. According to him, what the head of state conveyed was a form of support or endorsement to the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil.

This appreciation was conveyed by Jokowi when he inaugurated the operation of the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) Section II Toll Road, Friday, August 4. Ridwan Kamil or Kang Emil accompanied the president at that time.

During this momentum, President Jokowi mentioned the growth of investment in West Java due to the large number of toll road constructions. This praise was later referred to as a form of support.

"The endorsement from the President can be seen from the attitudes, behavior, then words and political actions," Agung told reporters quoted on Saturday, August 5.

Not only politics, Jokowi is also considered to have a personal close relationship with Ridwan Kamil. Moreover, the two have often met in recent times such as when trying out the Jabodebek LRT and meeting together.

Then Ridwan Kamil is also considered by Agung to be one of the three governors in Java who has a close relationship with Jokowi. In the context of (endorsement-ed) RK, for example, it can be seen from what he said," he said.

Ridwan Kamil is considered to have responded to this support by giving respect. This respect was seen when President Jokowi praised West Java for bowing over Ridwan Kamil.

Furthermore, this endorsement could be a capital for Ridwan if he runs in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). This is because he has good electability because of his performance in West Java Province.

"This is corroborated from a number of survey results," said Agung. "The level of satisfaction (Ridwan Kamil, ed) is also quite good," he concluded.
