Thousands Of People Exposed, South Tangerang Health Office Calls ISPA The 10 Highest Disease

TANGERANG - The South Tangerang Health Office (Dinkes) said that thousands of people were detected as suffering from acute respiratory tract infections (ARI). This occurs in viral or bacterial infections in the respiratory tract.

South Tangerang Kadinkes, Allin Hendalin Mahdaniar said the cause of transmission usually occurs through contact with the saliva splashes of infected people.

"As of August 2, 2023, there were 34,233 acute nasopharyngitis (common cold) while 29,699 acute upper respiratory infections", Allin said in his statement, Saturday, August 5.

Alin also said that ARI is a disease from the top 10 diseases. The risk factor occurs to suffer from ARI, he continued, when children who have not been immunized with barbaria, then combine to pneumonia.

"(In addition) I have not received the immunization of the DPT-HB-Hib at risk of pertussian diphtheria, have not received PCV immunization at risk of pneumonia, Nutrition Status Disorder (Mallnutrition) is related to the occurrence of ARI in toddlers, weak immune system, (if adults) active smokers," he said.

Therefore, the South Tangerang Health Office invites the public to prevent ARI, namely completing complete basic immunizations for infants and toddlers to maintain environmental cleanliness.

"If we are sick and don't want to infect, then carry out coughing ethics properly, keep your face away from other people when coughing or sneezing, use a mask, cover your mouth and nose with your upper arm on the inside if there is no tissue," he concluded.
