DPRD Immediately Submits Proposal For Candidates For Acting Governor Of West Java To The Ministry Of Home Affairs

The Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of West Java Province (Jabar) immediately reported the names of the candidates for the Governor of West Java who would replace M Ridwan Kamil (Governor of West Java)'s duties to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

"God willing, this afternoon there will be a leadership meeting and the head of the faction regarding the proposal for three names of Pj. So the DPRD will submit three names of proposals to the Ministry of Home Affairs, then the decision remains with Mr. President Joko Widodo," said Deputy Chairman of the West Java Provincial DPRD Ineu Purwadewi Sundari, in Bandung City reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 1.

Ineu said that based on the results of the West Java DPRD Plenary Meeting on the dismissal of the positions of West Java Governor M Ridwan Kamil and Deputy Governor of West Java Uu Ruzhanul Ulum on September 5, 2023, it would soon be reported Wednesday (3/8) to the central government through the Ministry of Home Affairs.

He said that according to regulations from the Ministry of Home Affairs' letter, the legislature and executive must convey to the public that the position of regional head will end soon, a maximum of one month before stepping down.

After being appointed through the West Java DPRD Plenary Meeting, said Ineu, the results must be reported on a maximum of August 5, 2023.

However, his party tried to take the initiative to report it more quickly, to follow up as much as possible.

"Alhamdulillah, we have implemented it and of course it must be followed up immediately, because the limit on the 5th must have been accepted at the Ministry of Home Affairs," he said.

"Today is the plenary session, we hope that the 3rd has been officially submitted to the central government regarding the announcement of the dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor for the 2018-2023 period," continued Ineu.

Regarding the criteria for the candidate for Acting Governor of West Java, Ineu said that the requirements had been regulated by the Ministry of Home Affairs, one of which was echelon one official from the provincial or central government.

In contrast to the Acting City/Regency, he said, which can be filled by echelon two officials, both from the Provincial Government, City Government, Regency Government and from the central government.

He said the West Java DPRD was thinking hard to propose names according to the criteria, considering the maximum time limit set by the Ministry of Home Affairs on August 9, 2023.

"The process, we were given until August 9, conveying three names. Later the process (by the central government) may be before the 5th (September 2023), because that date the Governor (Ridwan Kamil) will be completed. Later there should be no vacancy. There will be a further assessment," he said.

Apart from that, Ineu hopes that whoever is appointed as the Acting Governor of West Java by President Jokowi, will be able to complete the RPJMD to realize the province of inner birth champion with innovation and collaboration.

"Of course we want the best, even though there are still shortcomings. We have to look forward. We must continue to make the people of West Java prosperous. If something has not been achieved, this must be a target which we must then jointly realize it," said Ineu.
