JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono asked mayors throughout DKI Jakarta to take to the field to arrange housing under the Angke Toll Road, West Jakarta in stages.

"Today, if there are more residents there, I ask the mayors to pay close attention to it and the social service will be sent there. But when slowly moving to the flats, this must be maintained, there is an initial concept of a place to play, there are sports venues and others. The local government also pays attention," explained Heru at DKI City Hall as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 18.

Heru also explained that in 2009, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government had vacated the housing under the Angke Toll Road, where residents under the toll road were relocated to flats to get a more decent life.

"The DKI Regional Government, I forgot the year, around 2009-2010, had vacated under 12 kilometers of toll roads and they had already been entered into several flats," said Heru.

Currently, said Heru, his party is still reviewing the plan to waive levies for residents of former residents under the toll road. However, according to Heru, the DKI Provincial Government has limitations.

"We are thinking about levies for flats. The ability of local governments is also limited," said Heru.

Previously, the West Jakarta City Government was coordinating with PT Jasa Marga regarding the relocation of residents under the Angke Toll Road to a simple rental flat (rusunawa) in DKI Jakarta.

"We are waiting, later from Jasa Marga, yes. Jasa Marga has assets. We are waiting for what Jasa Marga will do," said Mayor Uus Kuswanto.

He said the relocation to be carried out by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government was based on a proposal from the West Jakarta City Government (Pemkot).

"Yes. We have recorded the residents (83 families). What we will do is 'back up' (support). What is clear is that we are doing what is best for the residents," said Uus.
