The Value Of Fish Fishing Auction Transactions In Lebak Reaches IDR 300 Billion

SERANG - The value of the fish catch auction transaction in Lebak Regency, Banten has reached Rp300 billion per month with the production of 6,500 tons from 11 fish auction sites (TPI).

"We assess that the auction transaction decreased compared to six months ago reaching Rp500 billion per month," said Head of Capture Fisheries Management of the Lebak District Fisheries Service, Rizal Ardiansyah, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 17.

The decline in the value of the fish catch auction transaction was due to bad weather that hit the Indian Ocean waters.

Usually, fishing in the sea reaches 20 times, but now reduces to 10 times.

Currently, he said, the fish auction transactions at 11 TPIs amounted to Rp300 billion per month from 3,675 fishermen with an average of Rp2.4 million per month.

"We encourage fishermen to continue to increase fish catch production to meet the availability of fish food," said Rizal.

To improve the quality of fish, he said, the Lebak Regency Government in 2023 will conduct technical guidance training (bimtek) on good fish handling methods.

The bimtek training involved as many as 30 fishermen. The goal is to catch until post-arrest so that the fish remains of high quality and fresh quality.

"We hope that through the technical guidance, fishermen can handle good and quality fish, so that they have a high selling value, because the fish condition remains fresh with the storage of barrel tools using ice," he explained.

The Lebak Regency Government also distributed fishing gear facilities and infrastructure for eight fishing groups.

In addition, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) will provide fishing facilities assistance for two groups of fishermen.

The training assistance for fishing gear starts from pasting machines, other machines to nets.

"We believe that assistance for fishermen is in an effort to increase catch production that leads to fishermen's welfare, so as to overcome extreme poverty," said Rizalpula.

He said the fish catch population in the southern waters of Banten or the Indian Ocean was the mainstay of the fishermen's economy, namely the type of finkining tuna. This fish is in the best category in Indonesia, because its population is in the Indian Ocean waters.

In fact, the yellow-fin tuna was exported, including menggiri fish, tuna, tuna, big, squid, skipjack, and usur.

Currently, he said, the auction price varies from IDR 60 thousand to IDR 350 thousand per kilogram.

"We continue to strive to increase the production and productivity of fish catch by providing assistance with caught equipment and a fleet of ships," he said.
