Bobby Nasution Asks Police To Take Firm Action Against Motorcycle Gangs And Thieves In Medan

The Mayor of Medan, North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution asked the police to take firm action against the perpetrators of motorcycle gangs and gangs in this area.

"The Medan City Government and the people of Medan City really expect real efforts to take firm action against criminals", he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 3.

The criminals in the capital city of North Sumatra Province, he continued, include robbers, motorcycle gangs, theft of public facilities and brawls, especially in Medan Belawan District.

It was recorded that a student at the University of Muhammadiyah, North Sumatra (UMSU) named Insanul Anshori Hasibuan, was the victim of a stabbing by a gang of robbers.

The mayor also asked that it be declared or promoted to "war on drugs" so that the superior generation in Medan City would not be disturbed.

"This must all be resolved immediately because it is very disturbing to the Medan City Government's program and the achievement of the superior generation of Indonesia Gold 2045", he said.

Bobby said that in order to prevent youths in the city of Medan from being trapped in a circle of trafficking and drug abuse, the Medan City Government carried out various programs.

"The programs include scholarships for academic achievements, job ready-to-work training and work markets, creation space, activation of the creative economy committee, improvement of sports infrastructure, youth development, and Pemuda Bela Negara or PBN", he said.

Specifically for the PBN training program, he said, the Medan City Government in collaboration with Kodim 02/01 Medan received direct support from the Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurachman.

Bobby said the program, which was inaugurated by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, had educated 100 youths.

"One of the participants in this National Defense Youth training has succeeded in becoming a member of the TNI", he said.

The Mayor of Medan also stated that the PBN program was very positive as an effort to create a conducive city of Medan.

"This program also gave birth to the golden generation, if the youth from this training were able to be accepted in various official schools, the TNI and Polri", said Bobby.
