Sekwan Bali Brings Candidate Candidates For Acting Governor To The Ministry Of Home Affairs

DENPASAR - Secretary of the Bali Regional House of Representatives (Sekwan) I Gede Indra Dewa Putra brought a letter directly to the Ministry of Home Affairs containing the names of three candidates for Acting Governor (Pj) of Bali proposed by the Bali DPRD.

"Tomorrow (June 4) I will submit it to the Ministry of Home Affairs and related ministries," said Gede Indra in Denpasar, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 3.

According to him, regarding which name will be decided to be Acting Governor of Bali, it will be conveyed towards the end of the term of office of Bali Governor Wayan Koster and Bali Deputy Governor Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati on September 5, 2023.

"The information is D-3 or D-2 before the term of office ends," said the former Head of the Bali Province Cooperatives and SMEs Service.

Previously, the Chairperson of the Bali Provincial DPRD, Nyoman Adi Wiryatama, said that the three names proposed by the Bali DPRD to the Ministry of Home Affairs to become the Acting Governor of Bali, namely the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of the Province of Bali, Dewa Made Indra.

Then the Special Staff of the Minister of Home Affairs for Security and Law Inspector General of Police Sang Made Mahendra Jaya and Deputy for Facilities and Infrastructure at the Ministry of Bappenas (Ministry / National Development Planning Agency) Ervan Maksum.

Adi Wiryatama said he would assign the Secretary of the Bali Provincial DPRD to bring the three candidates for the Acting Governor of Bali to Jakarta.

Previously, Adi Wiryatama said that he had received a notification letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the term of office of the Governor of Bali-Deputy Governor of Bali for the 2018-2023 period, which will end on September 5, 2023.

"Selecting the Acting Governor is required by law to be echelon I officials. In Bali, there are not many echelons I," he said.

Regarding the candidates who are considered the strongest, Adi assesses the same and on average the candidates say that if given the opportunity to become the Acting Governor of Bali, they will be ready to serve to do their best for Bali.

"So for us in the Bali DPRD, the most important thing is in line with us and we can continue this good development, maintain order, maintain Balinese customs and culture well, there are no more problems for us here," he said.

The candidate who will be decided to become the Acting Governor of Bali is under the authority of the president.

"We (DPRD Bali-ed) proposed three, the Minister of Home Affairs also three, then the president determined it. The important thing is that my obligation has prepared three names and according to the rules of echelon I officials," he said.
