PADANG - Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) of West Sumatra Province (West Sumatra) said six people from the Padang Embarkation died in the Holy Land during the Hajj season 1444 Hijri/2023. "Three Hajjes from West Sumatra and three hajj from Bengkulu Province," said Head of the West Sumatra Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion Helmi in Padang, Antara, Sunday, July 2. In addition to the six hajjes that died in the Holy Land, his party noted that a prospective pilgrim died before leaving to fulfill the fifth Islamic Rukun. "On behalf of myself and my institution, I express my deep sorrow for the passing of the Padang Embarkation Hajj pilgrims," he said. Helmi also prayed for the guests of Allah who died, both in the Holy Land and before leaving for Mecca, the best place was given, while hoping that the family left behind would be given fortitude. "For pilgrims who are currently in the Holy Land, hopefully they will be given health, strength, and enthusiasm, to complete a series of pilgrimages," he hoped. The six Hajj from the Padang Hajj Embarkation who died were Elsa Abdul Aziz (50), a resident of Lubuk Basung, Agam Regency, who was members of Group 6 and died on June 17 and was buried in Sharae Mecca. Next, Masyayudin Taib Riya (73), a resident of Parupuk Tabing, Koto Tangah, Padang City, joined in Group 1, died on June 18, 2023 at the Saudi Arabian Hospital (RSAS), and was buried in Sharae Mecca. Third, Rusdi Sain Alam Nasir (69), a resident of Tapak Gedung Village, Tebat Karai District, Kepahiang Regency, Bengkulu, died on June 19, 2023 due to congestion of blood vessels to the heart. Then Suratin Suradi Tawijo (66) from North Bengkulu Regency died on June 22, 2023 at the RSAS due to complications from low blood pressure sepsis, mental change, and organ dysfunction. In addition, Bakrin Delamid Saharia (71), a resident of Kepahiang Regency, Bengkulu, died on June 27 at the RSAS due to a blockage of blood vessels to the heart and was buried in Arafah. Finally, Mastiarni Abdul Muis (66) from West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra, died on June 29, 2023 due to respiratory problems and was buried in Sharae Mecca.
