Kasips Basarnas Jayapura Marinus Ohoirat admitted that the joint SAR team had not yet managed to arrive at the PK SMW plane scene which had an accident while flying from Elilim to Poik, Yalimo Regency, Papua Mountains.

The joint SAR team has yet to arrive at the TKP due to natural conditions in the area which are steep and difficult to reach.

"It is true that natural conditions in the interior of Poik are the cause of the team not arriving at the location of the plane that crashed Friday (23/6)," said Marinus Ohoirat, quoted by Antara, Sunday.

Admittedly, because they had not arrived around the location, the team could not confirm the condition of the crew and the four passengers of the plane belonging to Semuwa Air or SAM Air.

Currently, there are six joint SAR members who are deployed using ropes from helicopters or rapling and are trying to get to the location where the PK-SMW aircraft is located.

"It is scheduled that Monday (26/6) a team will be sent back to help teams that have already been deployed to around the location of the ill-fated aircraft," said Marinus Ohoirat.

The PK SMW aircraft piloted by Capten Hari Permadi pilot and copilot Levi Murib carrying four passengers had an accident Friday (23/6) on a flight from Elelim-Poik.

Previously, at around 10.00 WIT, the plane was reported to have lost contact.

The location of the ill-fated plane was found by a helicopter belonging to PT. Intan Angkasa which flew from Wamena at around 15.30 WIT and was in the middle of the wilderness between Elelim-Poik. When found, smoke was still visible coming out of the plane.

The helicopter found the location at around 16.08 WIT and virtually reported the front was destroyed while the back to the center was still intact.

The four passengers who took part in the flight were Bartonius, Ebeth, Dormina and Kilimputni.
