JAKARTA - The Biak Numfor District Samsat Office, Papua, has imposed a program to exempt motor vehicle tax fines from June 12 to July 12, 2023.

The vehicle tax fine exemption program is in accordance with the decision of the Governor of Papua in 2023 regarding the exemption of motor vehicle tax sanctions which is valid from June 12 to July 12, 2023.

"The tax fine exemption policy this time is very short," said Head of the Biak Samsat Regional Tax Service Unit Petrus Sanadi, Antara, Sunday, June 25.

Based on the socialization of Biak Samsat, four types of fine exemption are motor vehicle tax fines, the transfer fee for the name of the second motorized vehicle (BBN-KBII).

Then the mandatory donation fine for traffic accident funds (SWDKLLJ) for the year and the transfer fee for the name of motorized vehicle (BBN-KB).

The requirements that must be met for motorized vehicle owners include photocopies of ID cards, photocopies of STNK or BPKB, receipts for vehicle purchases, auction letters or dem letters from government agencies.

For the payment of vehicle tax fines carried out by the Biak Samsat every Monday until Thursday from 08.30 WIT to 12.00 WIT. For special services on Friday and Saturday, it lasts until 12.00 WIT.

Previously, the Head of the Papua Regional Revenue Office, Setiyo Wahyudi, said that the program to abolish motor vehicle tax fines was to increase awareness of taxpayers in paying vehicle taxes in the area.

"The program for exemption from motor vehicle tax fines is to increase the realization of local revenue from vehicle taxes," he said.

Based on data on the number of motorized vehicles in Biak Numfor Regency, which is recorded in the Biak Samsat service system, it reaches as many as 24 thousand units.
