Not Only Criminal, Mahfud Calls Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School Will Be Processed By Administration

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD said that not only a matter of crime, administrative sanctions would also be given to the Islamic Education Foundation which oversees the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School. Later, the imposition of sanctions will involve the Ministry of Religion.

"This will be carried out by administrative law, if the first is a criminal law action, the second is administrative law action against the Islamic Education Foundation which manages Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding Schools and schools, madrasas, which are managed by the Ministry of Religion," Mahfud told reporters, Saturday, June 24.

The Islamic Education Foundation is known to oversee educational institutions in stages up to the university level.

However, it did not specify the form of administrative sanctions that would be given. Mahfud only said that later the actions taken would still prioritize protection against the rights of students and students.

"For example, legal actions are carried out, we will first prepare steps so that those who have constitutional rights, to learn it continues but we will immediately carry out legal improvements and arrangements and decays to the implementation of the YPI, administrative legal action, the crime will be processed immediately," said Mahfud.

Meanwhile, previously, Mahfud MD said there was a criminal element behind the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School issue. So, the Police will handle it.

"First, there is a criminal act, there are several things that report criminal acts into the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs and conclusions from various studies later and there are also official reports that will be submitted to the Police," Mahfud told reporters, Saturday, June 24.

However, it has not been conveyed in detail about the elements or criminal offenses. It is only stated that sooner or later the form of violations of the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School issue will be announced.

Although he has not disclosed the alleged criminal element that was violated, Mahfud hinted that the violation was similar to the public's view regarding the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School.

However, it was emphasized that the violations that occurred were still suspected. Thus, it must be proven first by the investigation and investigation process at the Police.
