The Rise Of The Mode Of Trafficking In Persons, The Kapuas Hulu Community Is Asked To Be Alert

KAPUAS HULU - To note, there are currently two cases of criminal trafficking in persons (TPPO) that are being handled by the police that are taking place in the Indonesia-Malaysia border area, Kapuas Hulu Regency.

The Daily Executive (Plh) Head of the Putussibau Immigration Office, Joenari Anthony Marpaung, appealed to the Kapuas Hulu community to be vigilant and careful of the various modes of trafficking in people that are rampant.

"If you want to work abroad, make sure to follow official procedures and channels, so you don't get caught up in trafficking," said Joenari Anthony Marpaung, to ANTARA, in Putussibau Kapuas Hulu, Saturday, June 24.

Joenari conveyed that in an effort to prevent the occurrence of TIP, Putussibau Immigration is currently tightening the process of making passports, one of which is an in-depth interview with passport applicants.

According to him, the mode carried out by certain individuals is the lure of a large enough salary or income abroad, but not through official channels.

He explained that one of the impacts of trafficking in people is the occurrence of prostitution, in fact, many cases have lost part of the body's organs.

"Don't let our people become victims of TIP, we must prevent it together," he said.

Joenari said, to prevent the occurrence of TIP, it is necessary to care for all parties, including the family and community environment as well as a number of related parties.

He hopes that the public will raise awareness to follow official procedures if they want to find work abroad.

In addition, Joenari also advised that if there are people who are aware of the TIP's actions or plans, they immediately report to the nearest authorities.
