Brother And Sister Who Went Viral Stealing A Motorbike In Kalideres Turned Out To Have Acted 5 Times

The perpetrators of motorcycle theft in Kalideres with the initials AL (27), FA (23) and DA (29) at the Kalideres Police, West Jakarta, Thursday (15/6/2023).

The police arrested a brother with the initials AL (27) and FA (23) from Cengkareng for allegedly stealing a motorbike in the Kalideres area, West Jakarta on Thursday. "The perpetrators of the brothers were arrested at their home in Cengkareng, West Jakarta after their actions were caught on CCTV cameras and went viral on social media," said Kalideres Police Chief, AKP Syafri Wasdar in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, June 16. He said his party also arrested DA (29), a friend of the brothers on the side of Jalan Citra 8, Kalideres, West Jakarta. "The three perpetrators were arrested after they received reports from residents whose motorbikes were missing in the Kalideres area," he said. Syafri said that every time the perpetrators of the brothers took action, they were assisted by DA perpetrators. "From the results of the examination, it was revealed that the perpetrators had stolen motorbikes in the Kalideres area five times," he said. Separately, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kalideres Police, AKP Aep Haryaman, said that the perpetrators were equipped with a letter T key. "The motorcycle thief gang is targeting the vehicle left by the owner and looking for targets whose locations are quiet and safe," he said. From the arrest, he continued, the perpetrator was helpless when ambushed by officers and managed to secure evidence of a motorcycle, STNK and two T letter keys. He said the perpetrators of selling stolen motorbikes varied from around Rp. 2-3 million per unit. The proceeds of the crime, he continued, were used by the perpetrators for spree or drinking alcohol. "The proceeds of the crime by the perpetrators were made for spree and drunk," he said. For their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Law on theft with a weighted penalty of seven years in prison.
