KKIR Has Not Declared A Presidential Candidate, Gerindra Calls PKB's Statement On Evaluation Of Non- Threat Input Coalition

JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, assessed that the statement from the National Awakening Party (PKB) which stated that it was open to evaluating the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR) if it had not declared that the presidential and vice presidential candidates in June were not a threat, but an input.

"I think what Mr. Jazilul (Waketum of PKB Jazilul Fawaid) said was not a threat because it was one input," said Dasco as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 8. Dasco said that his party accepted and would conduct an internal evaluation of the Gerindra Party regarding input from the PKB so that the announcement of the presidential and vice presidential candidates was rushed this month.

"And of course we accept the input and we evaluate it together," he said. He also emphasized that the steps related to determining the candidates for the presidential and vice-presidential candidates to be announced will be carried out in coordination with the PKB, as well as the political cooperation that has been signed with the PKB-Gerindra Party. "Of course, these steps will be taken together by Gerindra and PKB, we will coordinate, and always coordinate with PKB," he said. Previously, last Wednesday, PKB Deputy Chairperson Jazilul Fawaid said it would be possible to evaluate the coalition that was established with the Gerindra Party because the presidential and vice presidential candidates had not been announced until now. "If not (announced) yes, think better neutralizing the PKB again so that they can think more sanely, evaluated," said Jazilul at the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday. He said that input for the KKIR presidential candidates to be announced immediately in June came from figures to kiai in the PKB.
