JAKARTA - The father-in-law of the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, Bambang Sukmono Hadi, has passed away. He died on Friday night, June 2.

This information was conveyed by a presidential candidate from the PDI-P Ganjar Pranowo. He also expressed his condolences for the death of Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"Last night I got WA, Mr. Bambang has passed away. He is Mas Happy's father and also Mbak Puan. Of course as a person, as governor, and of course as a PDI-P cadre, I would like to express my condolences," said Ganjar Pranowo quoting Antara, Saturday, June 3.

Bambang Sukmonohadi is the father of Hapsoro Sukmonohadi or Happy Hapsoro. Happy Hapsoro is the husband of Puan Maharani.

On this occasion, Ganjar prayed that Bambang Sukmonohadi's deeds of worship would be accepted by Allah SWT.

Ganjar admitted that he knew Bambang Sukmonohadi very well. In fact, this closeness was felt when Ganjar contested the Central Java gubernatorial election.

"When he ran for governor's election, he also supported (supported) Yogyakarta. Moreover, he was my classmate even though he was a bit far away from UGM. Every time he met he was very good, very good," said Ganjar.

Bambang Sukmonohadi died at the age of 79. The body will be buried on Jalan Sungai Sambas 1 Number 117 South Jakarta.
