Haram Mosque Manager Prepares Roller Scooter Rental Service

JAKARTA - The manager of the Haram Mosque has prepared scooter and wheelchair rental services for pilgrims who will perform Tawaf and Sai.

"Indonesian pilgrims who need scooters or wheelchairs can take advantage of the rental services at the Grand Mosque," said Head of the Saudi Arabia Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) 1444 H, Subhan Cholid in Mecca, Thursday, quoted by Antara.

Subhan added that the pilgrimage was a physical worship, including Tawaf twisting the Kaaba seven times and Sai from the Shafa hill to Marwah seven times.

He said the scooter rental service, which is fully managed by the Grand Mosque, can be used by Indonesian pilgrims who need it for the Tawaf and Sai processions.

For wheelchair services, Subhan appealed to the congregation to use official rental services. "Officers are officially inside the Grand Mosque. They wear special uniforms," he said.

Based on data on scooter and wheelchair rental services as of May 31, 2023 at the Grand Mosque, the rental rates for wheelchairs for Tawaf and Sai packages are charged 200 riyals or around Rp. 800 thousand per person, while for Tawaf or Sai packages alone they are charged 100 riyals or Rp. 400 thousand per person.

For the rental of scooters for one person with Tawaf and Sai packages, it costs 115 riyals or Rp. 460 thousand per person, while for Tawaf or Sai packages alone, it costs 57.5 Riyals or Rp. 232 thousand per person.

Meanwhile, the rental of scooters that can be increased by two people is charged 230 riyals or Rp. 920,000 per two people, while the Tawaf or Sai package alone costs 115 riyals or Rp. 460 thousand per person.

"These fees do not include services from hotels to terminals and terminals to the Grand Mosque," said Subhan.
