Populi Center Survey: Ganjar Pranowo Is The Most Able To Continue Jokowi's Program

JAKARTA - The presidential candidate (Readpres) from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Ganjar Pranowo, revealed that he often meets President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and considers him a mentor who is ready to guide him in seeing Indonesia's future development.

This statement was conveyed by Ganjar to the media crew on their way to the religious leader of Banten, Abuya Ahmad Muhtadi bin Dimyati al Bantani, in Pandeglang, Banten.

Ganjar revealed that Jokowi often discussed the grand design of development in Indonesia in their meeting. However, he also realized that several programs did not always succeed in achieving the desired target.

"And we realize there are some (programs) that will not be achieved. That's for sure. So nothing will be perfect. Therefore, my job is to clean up the mandate given," said Ganjar, quoted Thursday, June 1.

The PDI-P presidential reading also said that he always consulted with Jokowi in various ways. Apart from directly, Ganjar also communicated with Jokowi through his son, Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming.

"We ask, sometimes through Mas Gibran, often we also ask for time or maybe I am called. And that intensity continues to this day," said Ganjar.

Ganjar also revealed that he is often informed about bilateral meetings between countries that have recently been held through high-level conferences, such as the G20 meeting in Indonesia, the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Indonesia, and the G7 Summit in Japan.

This closeness made Ganjar feel that Jokowi was a mentor who provided leadership teaching. "I was lucky, because he opened extraordinary access, and so far he has always been my mentor, so in the context of development," said Ganjar.
